Giving Thanks

My first Thanksgiving was the most memorable–for the wrong reason.

With the mindset that it was a holiday for Americans, I turned down invitations and decided to stay in my apartment. As the day wore on with all the images of families together, I started missing mine. As much as I don’t like turkey, I started craving it.

Thankfully I came across a news story with a list of soup kitchens serving turkey and gravy. (The rest of the story later)…

…Fast forward to 2011. Again I will spend Thanksgiving in my apartment, again by choice. But this time I don’t have to wait for news stories with a list of soup kitchens selling turkey and gravy–there’s an app for that.
